Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel – Aurelia Blue

Forty years in professional kitchens.

Enough material for a book. Possibly several therapy sessions.

Devil’s Corner – kitchens, chaos and the Caribbean

Devil’s Corner

Between Kitchen, Chaos and the Caribbean

AVAILABLE NOW //GERMAN EDITION · PAPERBACK · KINDLE

If your idea of gastronomy comes from television cooking shows, you haven’t met gastronomy yet.

Devil’s Corner comes from a world where performance was expected, weakness was inconvenient and a quiet evening often meant only that the disaster had not started yet.

Christian looks back on roughly four decades in kitchens, restaurants and self-employment, with strong roots in the Stuttgart region.

Guests, employees, authorities, money, success, exhaustion, ego and situations that sound almost too absurd to have happened all find their way into the story.

This is not a polished hero’s journey in which every crisis later becomes a valuable lesson.

What happens when you finally stop repairing your old life and simply leave?

The answer eventually leads to a sailing yacht in the Caribbean.

The German edition is available as paperback and Kindle. A colour hardcover edition is scheduled for October 2026. It also works naturally as a gift for chefs and people from the restaurant trade who prefer real kitchen stories to another conventional cookbook.

Men. Boats. Confidence.

What could possibly go wrong?

Kaputt ist erst, wenn Sarah es sagt – humorous sailing book

Kaputt ist erst, wenn Sarah es sagt

The humorous handbook about men aboard

Sailors can explain wind direction, dismantle engines and confidently announce that a harbour manoeuvre is actually very simple.

Until somebody releases the line.

This full-colour cartoon book is about the moments anyone who has spent enough time around boats, men and tools will recognise immediately.

The navigator has three apps open and still maintains a remarkably personal interpretation of the harbour entrance. A five-minute repair becomes an afternoon. Somewhere, a tool has been missing for ten minutes despite remaining clearly visible throughout the search.

For skippers, crews, partners and every man who will instantly realise the jokes are obviously about somebody else.

New in 2026: also positioned as a gift for sailors, skippers and boat owners.

Many recipes work beautifully.

Provided your refrigerator has read them first.

Kochen ohne Plan – improvisational cookbook

Kochen ohne Plan

The Improvisational Cookbook

COMING SOON //OCTOBER 2026

No Parmesan? No cream? Different vegetables? Good. Now we can cook.

Kochen ohne Plan begins exactly where many conventional recipes become inconvenient.

It explains not only what to do, but why it works: acidity, texture, substitutions, balance and ways to rescue food when it becomes too salty, too thin or simply boring.

Clear quantities, temperatures and timings keep it useful for beginners. The real goal, however, is to become less dependent on the recipe itself.

Open the fridge, look at what is actually there – and know what to do with it.

That is why cooking belongs naturally in our Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel. Away from home, improvisation stops being fashionable and becomes practical.

The nearest supermarket is a very long way away.

Now cooking gets interesting.

OUTPOST KITCHEN – cooking remote routes

OUTPOST KITCHEN

Cooking the remote routes

COMING SOON //NOVEMBER 2026

What do you cook when the familiar ingredients simply do not exist?

No favourite cheese. No particular flour. No perfectly stocked supermarket. Sometimes no supermarket at all.

OUTPOST KITCHEN begins when provisioning becomes part of the journey.

Caribbean. Pacific. Africa. South America. Islands, harbours, markets and long stretches in between.

What is local? What is imported, expensive or rare? What is caught, grown or preserved? Which ingredients seem unusual to us but completely normal to the people who live there?

Not an exotic coffee-table book. Food, travel and improvisation where supply can no longer be taken for granted.

Some books are read.

Some stories work surprisingly well on a T-shirt.

Devil’s Corner Merch

Dark humour sometimes works remarkably well on fabric. The Devil’s Corner shop brings together selected shirts, hoodies and designs inspired by kitchens, chaos, the Caribbean and people who keep going long after sensible people would have gone home.

Why we write Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel

Christian comes from gastronomy; my background is in technology and IT. Two worlds where problems usually need solving before anyone asks how everybody feels about them.

For years there was no time to write books. There were restaurants, projects, clients, systems, responsibilities, invoices and the ordinary madness that enjoys disguising itself as everyday life.

Then we bought a sailing yacht, left Germany and eventually put a very large amount of sea between ourselves and the old routine.

Distance brought old stories back into focus while creating new ones every day: countries, kitchens, repairs, markets, guests, good decisions, terrible decisions and situations that were not remotely funny at the time.

That is where our Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel come from. Not because we designed a convenient publishing concept, but because eventually there were too many stories not to write them down.

Food. Sea. Travel. Chaos.

And very little interest in perfect biographies.

The books are different because the stories are different. Some are funny, some personal, some practical and some refuse to fit neatly into one category.

This is a growing home for our Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel and whatever stories come next.

Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel: where to start

If you came here for sailing humour, start with Kaputt ist erst, wenn Sarah es sagt. If professional kitchens, restaurant life and the strange logic of gastronomy are more your world, Devil’s Corner is now available. The upcoming cooking projects move further into improvisation, provisioning and food far away from familiar supermarkets.

That mix is intentional. Our Books about Sailing, Cooking and Travel are connected less by genre than by the same point of view: lived experience first, polished theory second.
