What are Shared Caribbean Sailing Voyages?
A Shared Caribbean Sailing Voyage allows solo travelers, couples or friends to book a cabin or berth on one of our scheduled sailing adventures without having to charter an entire yacht.
Instead of booking the whole boat, you share the journey with a small number of like-minded guests while enjoying the comfort, safety and character of a fully equipped ocean-going yacht. It is a more personal and authentic alternative to large group tours, resort holidays or anonymous cabin charter experiences.
Our Shared Caribbean Sailing Voyages are ideal for solo travelers, couples, friends travelling together and curious first-time sailors, but also for experienced guests who enjoy life at sea without the pressure of a formal training trip. No previous sailing experience is required on most voyages — you can be as involved as you like, or simply relax and enjoy the Caribbean.

Every guest receives a short preference questionnaire, allowing us to tailor the onboard experience to individual wishes, dietary requirements and special occasions whenever possible.
Whether you enjoy a particular wine, prefer vegetarian meals, have food allergies or simply want to experience a destination that has always been on your bucket list, we do our best to make it happen.
After your voyage, we also share the journey’s photo collection in full resolution, allowing you to relive and share your Caribbean memories long after returning home.

Do I Need Sailing Experience?
Not at all.
Many guests join us with little or no sailing experience.
Those who wish to learn are welcome to participate in:

Some expedition and offshore passages require active participation, which will always be clearly stated in the voyage description.
Comfort On Board Aurelia Blue
Life on board Aurelia Blue is designed to feel relaxed, comfortable and easy from the very beginning. Our Hanse 540 has been cruising internationally since 2022 and is equipped not only for serious offshore sailing, but also for enjoyable everyday life on board.
Guests stay in two comfortable guest cabins, each with its own private bathroom including shower and toilet. The cockpit offers generous seating for long breakfasts, shared dinners and relaxed evenings on board, while the foredeck is a wonderful place to sunbathe, read or simply watch the islands drift by.
The galley is equipped for real life on board rather than basic camping afloat — with fresh coffee in the morning, a toaster, electric and gas cooking, space for preparing meals and the little comforts that make life on board feel relaxed, familiar and a little like home. Watermaker, solar power, lithium batteries, generator, Starlink internet and comprehensive safety equipment all work quietly in the background to support a smooth and comfortable Caribbean sailing experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need sailing experience?
No. Many of our guests have little or no sailing experience. Aurelia Blue shared voyages are designed for people who want to enjoy the Caribbean, life on board and the rhythm of the journey, not only for experienced sailors. You are very welcome to take part in sailing activities if you like, but you can just as easily relax and simply enjoy the voyage.
How much can we take part in sailing and maneuvers?
You are very welcome to take part in sailing, steering and simple maneuvers if you would like to. At the same time, Aurelia Blue is not a training yacht and our shared voyages are designed first and foremost to be beautiful, relaxed and enjoyable journeys through the Caribbean. We are always happy to involve interested guests, but we do not structure the trip around practicing every maneuver.
How many guests join a voyage?
We focus on small groups to create a relaxed and personal atmosphere on board. Most shared voyages are designed for up to 4 guests. Up to 6 guests may be possible on special request depending on the voyage and cabin arrangement, usually when travelling as a family or private group.
Will I have my own cabin?
Depending on availability and the specific voyage, guests can book a private cabin or shared accommodation as described in the voyage details.
What is included in the voyage price?
Accommodation on board, skipper, on-board equipment and the services described in the individual voyage details are included. Please refer to the specific voyage page for the exact inclusions of your chosen trip.
What languages do you speak on board?
We speak fluent English and German, making communication easy for most of our guests. We also have a basic and steadily growing knowledge of French, thanks to spending much of the year exploring the French Caribbean.
What is Board Cash?
Board Cash covers the shared running costs of the voyage, such as provisions, drinks, fuel, mooring fees, clearance fees and other common on-board expenses.
How do meals and dietary preferences work on a shared voyage?
Food consumed on board and non-alcoholic drinks are organised as part of the shared on-board provisioning. Before the voyage, we ask guests about dietary requirements, allergies and important food preferences so that we can plan the provisioning as thoughtfully as possible. While we cannot promise every individual request on every route, we do our best to take allergies, intolerances and personal preferences into account wherever possible.
Are meals ashore included in the on-board provisioning?
No. The on-board provisioning covers food and non-alcoholic drinks consumed on board, but it does not include restaurant visits ashore. During most voyages, we usually enjoy one dinner per week in a local restaurant, beach bar or similar setting. These meals ashore are paid individually.
Can we bring our own alcohol on board?
Yes. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine, beer or spirits on board. We simply ask that alcohol is enjoyed responsibly and with consideration for safety, the route and everyone on board.
Can we drink alcohol on board?
Yes, enjoying a glass of wine, a beer or a sundowner on board is absolutely part of Caribbean life for many guests. At the same time, safety comes first, so alcohol is not appropriate before departure or during sailing and maneuvers. If a guest is not fit to safely take part in active sailing tasks, the skipper may decide that they should not take responsibility for maneuvers or the yacht.
Do you also go ashore for lunch or beach bars?
Yes, sometimes. Depending on the route, weather and timing, there may be opportunities to stop for lunch, a drink or a relaxed visit to a beach bar or local restaurant ashore. These moments are often part of the Caribbean experience, but they are never the main focus of the voyage and always depend on the route and the day.
Is smoking allowed on board?
Yes, smoking is possible on board, but only outdoors and with consideration for everyone else on board. We ask guests not to smoke in the seating and dining areas around the cockpit table and only in places where smoke will not disturb other guests.
Is fishing equipment available?
Yes. Fishing equipment is available on board and guests are welcome to try Caribbean fishing during the voyage.
Is internet available on board?
Optional Starlink internet packages may be available on selected voyages. Details can be found on the individual voyage page.
What should I bring?
Lightweight clothing, swimwear, sun protection, personal items and a sense of adventure are usually all you need. We will also provide practical packing advice before your voyage.
What are the usual arrival and departure times?
Guests usually come on board between 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm on the day of arrival, and departure is normally by 10:00 am at the end of the voyage. If your flights or travel plans make different timings necessary, just let us know — wherever possible, we are happy to find a practical individual solution.
If you would like to arrive a day earlier or stay on board for an additional night after the voyage, please feel free to ask. In many cases this can be arranged, depending on the voyage schedule, the following booking and the yacht’s turnaround. Any additional nights on board and the related on-board provisioning are handled separately.
Can you help with flights, transfers or accommodation before and after the voyage?
Yes. We are happy to assist with practical travel planning before your voyage, such as arrival timing, airport transfers, accommodation suggestions and general advice for the start or end of your trip. Especially for guests joining from abroad, we try to make the arrival and departure process as easy and straightforward as possible.
What kind of atmosphere should I expect on board?
Our shared voyages are designed to feel personal, relaxed and easy rather than formal or highly structured. Guests share life on board, meals, anchorages and the rhythm of the journey, but there is always room to retreat, read, swim, enjoy the scenery or simply do nothing for a while. We value a friendly, uncomplicated atmosphere and guests who appreciate both community and consideration for others.
