What to Expect
This Tobago to Martinique sailing voyage is designed for guests who want to experience the Caribbean not just from one island to the next, but as a true route unfolding under sail. Instead of returning to the same starting point, this one-way voyage gradually carries you north through some of the most beautiful and varied islands of the southern Caribbean.
The journey begins in Tobago and leads to the sheltered bays of southern Grenada, including the relaxed atmosphere around Hog Island and Woburn Bay. From there, we continue into the Grenadines with stops around the Tobago Cays and Bequia before sailing on toward the dramatic Pitons of St Lucia and finally Martinique.
Compared with our shorter island-hopping routes, this voyage includes longer sailing legs and a more classic passage character. It is ideal for guests who enjoy real time under sail, beautiful anchorages and the feeling of travelling through the Caribbean rather than simply spending a week in one cruising area.
Voyage Highlights
This one-way Caribbean sailing voyage combines some of the most rewarding highlights of the southern Windward Islands with the extra satisfaction of a route that truly takes you somewhere.
You start in Tobago, one of the Caribbean’s most relaxed and green islands, before sailing north to Grenada’s protected southern bays around Hog Island and Woburn. From there, the route continues into the Grenadines with their turquoise anchorages, reef-fringed islands and laid-back sailing atmosphere.
The Tobago Cays bring exactly the kind of Caribbean scenery many guests dream about: clear water, white sand, turtles and unspoiled anchorages. Bequia adds island charm and a lively little harbour atmosphere, while St Lucia delivers one of the region’s most dramatic coastlines beneath the Pitons. The voyage ends in Martinique, where French-Caribbean island life, good food and easy onward travel create a fitting final stop.
Why This Voyage Is Special
What makes this Tobago to Martinique sailing voyage special is the combination of two different qualities that do not always come together: genuine Caribbean island-hopping and a meaningful amount of real sailing distance.
You are not simply sailing out and back within one cruising ground. Instead, the route gradually connects Tobago, Grenada, the Grenadines, St Lucia and Martinique into one continuous journey. Each island feels different, and the changing scenery, distances and atmosphere create a much stronger sense of travelling through the Caribbean as a sailor rather than just staying in one place.
At the same time, Aurelia Blue remains a boutique sailing experience. You travel in a small group aboard a spacious owner-operated yacht, with personal hospitality, good food, quiet anchorages and plenty of room to enjoy the islands at a relaxed pace.
Route Overview
The voyage starts in Tobago and heads north through the southern Windward Islands toward Martinique. Weather, sea conditions and the wishes of the group always play a role in the exact rhythm of the route, but the overall journey follows a clear one-way line through some of the Caribbean’s most rewarding sailing grounds.
After departure from Tobago, we make our way toward Grenada and usually spend time in the protected southern part of the island around Hog Island and Woburn Bay. This is a beautiful area to settle into the rhythm of life on board, enjoy calm anchorages and ease into the voyage before continuing north.
From Grenada, the route leads into the Grenadines and toward the Tobago Cays, one of the best-known highlights of the entire eastern Caribbean. Depending on weather and timing, we may also include nearby stops that fit naturally into the route. Bequia usually follows as one of the most charming islands on the journey, with its relaxed harbour town atmosphere and classic Caribbean sailing feel.
Further north, St Lucia brings a change of scenery again, with its steep volcanic coastline and the famous Pitons. From there, the final leg takes us onward to Martinique, where the voyage ends after two weeks of island-hopping, longer sailing legs and a true one-way Caribbean passage.

Life on Board Aurelia Blue
Life on board Aurelia Blue is about much more than simply moving from island to island. It is about waking up in beautiful anchorages, spending your days under sail or in the water, and ending the evening with a good meal and a cold drink as the sun goes down over the Caribbean.
Aurelia Blue is a privately owned Hanse 540e with generous deck space, comfortable guest cabins and the atmosphere of a small floating boutique hotel rather than a crowded charter boat. Because we sail with only a small number of guests, there is plenty of space to enjoy both the social side of life on board and the quieter moments that make a longer voyage so special.
Some guests like to take part in sailing, steering and manoeuvres whenever possible, especially on a route like this one. Others simply enjoy the islands, the food, the anchorages and the rhythm of life on board. Both are equally welcome on Aurelia Blue.
On-Board Food & Drinks
On this voyage, on-board food and non-alcoholic drinks are charged at €35 per person per day.
This includes breakfast and dinner prepared on board, as well as the food, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks consumed on board throughout the voyage. We use fresh ingredients wherever possible and plan provisioning with guest preferences, allergies and dietary requirements in mind.
The idea behind this arrangement is to keep life on board simple, comfortable and transparent. Provisioning is organised in advance by the crew so that guests do not lose the first day of the voyage to shopping, and there is no need to track a long list of small galley expenses separately throughout the trip.
Restaurant visits ashore are not included in this amount and are paid individually.
