⚓ A Word from the Skipper
The Caribbean did more than convince us as a sailing ground — it got under our skin.
We have been sailing these islands with enthusiasm for around four years now, from Martinique and St Lucia through the Grenadines to Grenada, Tobago and the smaller places in between. I still have days at the helm when a coastline appears ahead and I wonder how a region we know so well can still feel completely new.
That is what I love about a yacht charter Caribbean voyage: strong trade winds, warm water, green volcanic islands, quiet anchorages and cultures that change from one island to the next. For me, this should never feel like a standard charter product. It should feel like a real journey — sailed with time, curiosity and enough flexibility to let the Caribbean set part of the rhythm.

A different yacht charter Caribbean experience
The term yacht charter Caribbean can mean many things, from bareboat rentals to large luxury charter yachts. Aurelia Blue deliberately offers something more personal. Guests join our own sailing yacht and travel with a skipper, so they can experience genuine island-to-island sailing without operating a boat themselves.
No sailing licence is required. Guests are welcome to take the helm, learn more about sail trim or simply enjoy the rhythm of life aboard while the skipper remains responsible for navigation, weather decisions and safety.
A substantial yacht for Caribbean sailing
Aurelia Blue is a Hanse 540e, about 16 metres long and built for offshore passages and longer cruising. We offer only two guest cabins, which keeps the atmosphere calm and personal rather than turning the voyage into a crowded group trip.
The yacht has a watermaker, solar and lithium power systems, generator, 220-volt supply, large cockpit and deck spaces, SUP, snorkelling equipment, BBQ and comprehensive offshore safety gear. It is a genuine cruising yacht, not a floating entertainment platform.
Where can a Caribbean yacht charter take you?
Our seasonal sailing area includes Martinique, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Tobago and other islands in the southern Caribbean. Each destination adds something different to the voyage: dramatic volcanic landscapes, turquoise anchorages, lively local culture or quieter, greener coastlines.
Some voyages start in Martinique and head south toward St Lucia and the Grenadines. Others begin farther south. Weather, sea state and the character of the guest group influence the exact route, which is why we prefer flexible planning over fixed promises made months in advance.
Why small groups matter
Keeping guest numbers low changes the experience completely. There is more room aboard, fewer compromises and more freedom when planning the day. If an anchorage is exceptional, there is no reason to leave only because a printed itinerary says so.
For us, the best Caribbean voyages are not about collecting the maximum number of stops. They are about creating a balance between sailing, time ashore and unhurried moments on board.
Do I need sailing experience?
No. A voyage with Aurelia Blue works well for guests with or without previous sailing experience. Before departure we explain the key safety procedures and the practical routines on board. Experienced sailors are welcome too, especially if they would like to enjoy the Caribbean without carrying full skipper responsibility for once.
Our guiding idea is simple: everything is possible, nothing is compulsory.
Food is part of the voyage
Good food belongs naturally to good sailing. Depending on local availability we cook with fresh fish, seafood, vegetables, fruit and regional ingredients. Christian brings decades of professional culinary experience to the galley, and that makes a real difference during a longer journey.
You may find freshly baked bread in the morning, proper coffee after a swim stop or a carefully prepared dinner after a good sailing day. We do not stage food for effect; we simply think it matters.
Who is this Caribbean yacht charter for?
This style of travel is ideal for couples, solo travellers and small groups who want to see the Caribbean from the water without operating an entire yacht themselves. It also suits experienced sailors who would enjoy the route more if someone else held final responsibility for the boat.
If you value sailing, island life, flexibility and a personal atmosphere, this type of Caribbean yacht charter may be a better fit than a large charter operation or a resort-based holiday.
Captain’s Thoughts
The Caribbean is one of those rare sailing regions where the journey itself stays exciting year after year. The islands may be close enough for manageable passages, yet different enough that every route feels like a new conversation with the sea.

What We’d Do
For a first yacht charter Caribbean experience, we would choose a route that gives you a genuine mix of sailing, time at anchor and island life rather than trying to collect as many stops as possible. The best part of a hosted Caribbean voyage is the rhythm: sail somewhere worth reaching, stay long enough to enjoy it, then move on when the next island calls.
Two good next steps
What yacht charter Caribbean actually feels like
The appeal is not simply having a yacht beneath you. It is waking up in one anchorage, swimming before breakfast, sailing to another island and arriving with the feeling that the journey itself mattered. A small guest group keeps the experience personal, while hosted sailing removes the operational workload that comes with running a bareboat yourself.

yacht charter Caribbean: frequently asked questions
What does yacht charter Caribbean mean with Aurelia Blue?
It means joining a hosted sailing experience rather than taking responsibility for a bareboat charter. You travel aboard an owner-operated yacht, with the route and life aboard shaped around a small guest group.
Is a yacht charter Caribbean suitable for first-time sailors?
Yes. You do not need sailing experience to enjoy the trip. Guests can take part as much or as little as they like while the sailing itself remains in experienced hands.
Which islands can a Caribbean yacht charter include?
Routes vary with the voyage, season and starting point. Our sailing area includes Martinique, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Tobago and other southern Caribbean islands.
Is this the same as a private yacht charter?
Not always. Some voyages are shared with other guests, while private sailing options are designed for couples, families or small groups who want the yacht to themselves.
